 Angeline Shaka discovered Pilates in 1994 while dancing in college. She was later certified to teach in the Classical Pilates style by master instructor Romana Krysanowska in New York in 1997 and since then has taught in New York, the San Francisco Bay Area, Beverly Hills, and now Venice, California.
Angeline is also a Ph.D candidate and teaching fellow in the Culture and Performance Program at UCLA where she has also taught Pilates classes. She has worked closely with all levels of fitness from rehabilitation after trauma, to pre- and post-natal, to professional athletes. Her teaching emphasizes correct alignment and form through an understanding of the six basic principles of Pilates: Control, Concentration, Centering, Breath, Precision, and Flow of movement, or dynamic. She has been teaching at Turning Point Pilates since 2008 |
