Pilates | What: |

The Pilates Method was developed by Joseph Pilates while rehabilitating sick and injured German nationals interned in England during World War 1.
Pilates builds strength from the inside out. The key is learning to engage your stabilizing muscles creating a “girdle of strength” for the spine and a strong centre from which to move. These are muscles of your abdomen, back and pelvis.
Pilates uses spring resistance . Unlike fixed loads in weight training, the springs stretch. The body is challenged to react to a changing load which is how our bodies respond every single day.
In Pilates your mind, body and breath work simultaneously to focus on the quality of movement over quantity.
With over 500 exercises Pilates is creative, challenging, fun and never tedious. |
