Robin founded Turning Point Pilates as a way to introduce Classical Pilates to the Venice community. She was introduced to the method while still a entertainment industry professional. Changing her career and wanting to be of service, Robin manifested her vision; becoming a teacher and opening a boutique Pilates studio.
"I am now a Pilates studio owner for 11 years and Pilates teacher for 13 years. Myself and the team truly enjoy being of service. We are here to make anyone and every ‘body’ feel empowered via the traditional or classical Pilates method. My greatest pleasure is seeing clients come in as beginners and surpass their limitations and own expectations."
Robin certified in 2003 from Ivan Dahl's International Pilates Certification. Wanting more... she took lessons and teacher training workshops offered by The Pilates Center Boulder certifying studio in Redondo Beach, CA. Always a student, she still takes lessons with master classical teachers, attends workshops and practices Pilates.
A southern girl born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, her career took her to New York City. She earned her teaching certification from Equinox in New York City in 2012. In 2012 Sonia relocated from New York to Los Angeles.
Sonia fell in love with Pilates when it helped her recover from a chronic disc issue in her neck. Years as a digital producer (read: sitting at a desk for 40+ hours a week) didn't help with degenerative discs either. Encouraged by her own progress, she decided to combine her love of helping others with a role that gets her moving and out of her desk chair.
Sonia believes it is crucial to Move. Well. Every. Day. She loves to help her clients build strong bodies through mind-body connections so that they thrive in their everyday lives.
Lily Robertson grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii but has also spent significant time living in Montreal, Canada and London, England. She discovered the amazing benefits of Pilates over eight years ago in Canada and has been hooked ever since. Now, a Pilates instructor for five years, she incorporates a blend of mind/body awareness with challenging exercises and flow to create dynamic classes for her students. A graduate of Concordia University, Montreal in Psychology and Anthropology, Lily not only loves to help others physically but also mentally. Alongside teaching, she is currently enrolled in a Master’s Program for Clinical Psychology and Antioch University Los Angeles. Lily is a classical teacher through and through and although a Peak Certified instructor, she has spent the last three years training under The Pilates Center Boulder Master Teachers in London, England.
Sherri first found Pilates through physical therapy in 2003, after she suffered a back injury, as a result of her years as a competitive gymnast. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from UCLA, where her studies were focused on Physiology and Psychology, she became even more interested in the mind-body connection. Sherri has since completed a comprehensive 450 hour study of the Pure Pilates Method under Heather Leon, and her practice has focused on self-healing, increasing energy levels, and lengthening key muscle groups.
Sherri is also an adept chef and nutrition guru. She formerly owned and operated Cookie Collective, where she developed recipes for cookies and treats that conformed with the AIP/Anti-Inflammatory diet, in addition to being allergen free (gluten, dairy, nut, etc) and delicious. She is passionate about nutrition and holistic health, and loves to provide her clients with tips and tricks in the kitchen.
In addition to Pilates, Sherri enjoys hiking, climbing and has over 70 hours of experience as a private pilot. She loves to travel and particularly enjoys exploring lesser known destinations off-the-beaten-path. She looks forward to sharing her personal experience and passion for Pilates with all of her clients!
Roxanne's path in the integrated body arts sprung from her love for dance. She trained under the Russian Vaganova method of classical ballet for 8 years and later joined the corps de ballet of the Philippines' most prestigious ballet company, Ballet Manila. It was there that she performed professionally in a number of the company's classical repertoire such as Swan Lake, Giselle, La Bayadere, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Le Corsaire, Carmen, Sleeping Beauty to name a few. To this day, she continues her passion for dance by teaching ballet at her neighborhood dance studio in Tarzana, CA.
She later took Pilates classes to enhance the strength and artistry of her craft under the tutelage of Cecilia Sicangco-Ibarrola, former artistic director and principal dancer of Ballet Philippines. Roxanne chose the classical method of Pilates by Romana Kryzanowska, a direct student of Joseph Pilates because she valued the authenticity and effectivity of Romana's method. She entered True Pilates New York's Teacher Trainer Program with Level II Instructor Trish Garland and has so far completed 450 hours of teacher training hours, exceeding the Pilates Method Alliance's required certification hours.
Marie Soulé is a classically trained Pilates Instructor certified by Power Pilates and
Pilates Method Alliance. She was introduced to Pilates after a knee injury and the onset of arthritis limited her ability to engage in aerobics and trail running. Since then, Pilates has played a vital part in keeping Marie injury and stress free in all her endeavors. Marie is inspired by the vision of Joseph Pilates “We retire too early and we die too young. Our prime of life should be in the 70’s and old age should not come until we are almost 100.” Marie’s vision is to build a retirement community of lively and healthy life enthusiasts.
