Robin founded Turning Point Pilates as a way to introduce Classical Pilates to friends and new clients. She was introduced to the method while still a entertainment industry professional. Changing her career and wanting to be of service, Robin visualized becoming a teacher and opening an independent Classical Pilates studio to the community.
She certified in 2003 from Ivan Dahl's International Pilates Certification. Wanting more... she took lessons and teacher training workshops offered by The Pilates Center Boulder certifying studio in Redondo Beach, CA. Always a student, she still takes lessons with master classical teachers, attends workshops and practices Pilates.
Emphasizing good postural habits, robust breathing and spinal flexibility,Robin is dedicated to helping each student achieve their potential and loves teaching new students.

A southern girl born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, her career took her to New York City. She earned her teaching certification from Equinox in New York City in 2012. In 2012 Sonia relocated from New York to Los Angeles. .
Sonia fell in love with Pilates when it helped her recover from a chronic disc issue in her neck. Years as a digital producer (read: sitting at a desk for 40+ hours a week) didn't help with degenerative discs either. Encouraged by her own progress, she decided to combine her love of helping others with a role that gets her moving and out of her desk chair.
Sonia believes it is crucial to Move. Well. Every. Day. She loves to help her clients build strong bodies through mind-body connections so that they thrive in their everyday lives.
Marlene grew up in the mid-west. She graduated from Indiana University, (she won't tell us when. Always the exercise enthusiast, Marlene took her first Pilates lesson and was immediately hooked. After years of developing her Pilates practice, Marlene decided to share her enthusiasm and passion for Pilates by becoming a certified instructor. Marlene has a certification from the Pilates Center in Boulder as well as the Pilates Institute of Southern California.
Maria grew up on the east coast, where she began her love of movement with dance. In LA she pursued an acting, dance career and created her family.
Having 3 children back to back put strain on her spine and weakened her abdominals. Chiropractic care failed so she tried Pilates. Pilates was an immediate fit. After 8 years of being a Pilates devotee she got certified to teach at The Pilates Institute of Southern California (PISC). She has an second certification from The Pilates Center, Boulder.
Maria continues her Pilates education by attending seminars and workshops regularly and stands firmly in the belief of the pilates principles.
Kevin studied dance as a child growing up in Europe, Latin America, and Washington, D.C. In 2010, she fulfilled a long held desire to relocate to Southern California.
During her long career as an intellectual property paralegal, she practiced yoga, earning a 500 hour teacher certification from Erich Schiffmann at The Santa Barbara Yoga Center. She continues to teach yoga and meditation, and has written and conducted corporate workshops for managing stress.
Health issues led Kevin to discover Pilates in 2004 and in healing her body, she became passionate to teach. She earned a certification from Mark Trudeau in 2005 and graduated from Core Dynamics Teacher Training in 2012, studying with second-generation teacher Michele Larsson, who had apprenticed under first-generation teacher, Eve Gentry. Kevin apprenticed under several second and third generation teachers, and completed an intensive study of Pilates for scoliosis with Michele Larson in 2006. Kevin loves helping students find the connection within to reach their personal highest movement potential.
Roxanne's path in the integrated body arts sprung from her love for dance. She trained under the Russian Vaganova method of classical ballet for 8 years and later joined the corps de ballet of the Philippines' most prestigious ballet company, Ballet Manila. It was there that she performed professionally in a number of the company's classical repertoire such as Swan Lake, Giselle, La Bayadere, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Le Corsaire, Carmen, Sleeping Beauty to name a few. To this day, she continues her passion for dance by teaching ballet at her neighborhood dance studio in Tarzana, CA.
She later took Pilates classes to enhance the strength and artistry of her craft under the tutelage of Cecilia Sicangco-Ibarrola, former artistic director and principal dancer of Ballet Philippines. Roxanne chose the classical method of Pilates by Romana Kryzanowska, a direct student of Joseph Pilates because she valued the authenticity and effectivity of Romana's method. She entered True Pilates New York's Teacher Trainer Program with Level II Instructor Trish Garland and has so far completed 450 hours of teacher training hours, exceeding the Pilates Method Alliance's required certification hours.
